I am running a 406v2 4.1.9 and installing the compatible Phone Manager on Vista machines and the phone manager is working fine on the local machines but I am having trouble with the IP version from offsite.
The VPN connection right now is a client software and the home office has a DSL connection.
The problem I am having is the volume is terribly low and the sound is constantly clipping.
I have maxed out all volume adjustments and experimented with codecs, faststart on/off,etc.Nothing I do seems to have an effect.
The headset is a Plantronics Wireless IP via a USB controller. There is an App,some kind of sync manager for the Plantronics that I could not get to stay running.
Gotta love Vista.
Just wondering if anyone has had any similar experience?
Thank all-

I pretty sure softphone is not supported on Vista yet.

Fooball is not a matter of life and death-It is far more important!!!!

Jamie is right

phone manager supported, softphone not

Catalyst officially tells me it is not yet supported on Vista.

just came up against this today also, client wants 10 users with softphone but all are on vista.

has anyone ever got it working?

IS this hardware tested by Avaya with the IPO? I doubt it, but anyways.

Even if the softphone were supported on Vista the wireless/IP headset is not your job unless you have been trained/certified on it. Get a hard wired MIC, and use the speakers on the laptop, and once that works, you are done.

Thanks Aarenot,

so it does work but not supported. that's half the battle. do you know when it will be supported? next release?

4.2 User is out and supports Vista?I'll give it a try.
The problem I was having was barely discernable audio-I could connect, but barely hear anything.
I am going there today to connect and XP machine directly to the network and see what happens.
This way we don't have to worry about VPN's,wireless routers, etc.
Thanks all

I only see 4.1.17 here in the states.Anyone know when 4.1.2 comes out or have any ideas about the terribly low volume?

victor,
same answer as the rest tells you. IP Softphone does not work. We have a customer with exactly the same problems (clipping, volume problems, ...) If needed I can tell you which documents say that IP Softphone isn't supported on Vista.

Got it via e-mail from my support(Catalyst). The customer wanted to see something from an engineer type guy.
Thanks
