We have a customer with a large Mac OS X install base interresting in the IP Office solution. Considering there isn't a Mac Phone Manager client, the first thought was to host Phone Manager via Terminal Services and go that route; however, in our initial tests I'm seeing the same symptoms crashtest1000 volunteers in the post "Phone Manager 2.1 slows down terminal server".

Wondering how others out there have addressed the need for a Phone Manager client for the Mac. Running emulation software on each system at >$200 simply won't cut it.

Here's hoping Avaya decides to move to more of an open platform with future releases. A java client might do nicely ;-)

I'm kind of surprised the Phone Manager client for the Mac dilemma seems to be uncharted territory for others of you out there.

One bit of good news - the latest PhoneManager 2.1.8 seems to have addressed the performance issue when running under Terminal Services and/or Citrix. Testing on the Macs is proving workable by the end-user's standards so hey - I'm happy.

Hope the information proves helpful for others of you out there. Enjoy~

It is a shame AVAYA have not addressed this. However you have to look at what is in the Marketplace "Microsoft" this has always been the case for the apple guys since system 7.

Lucky MS developed there core applications for the Apple platform eg: Office etc, however I feel AVAYA will never develop on the OSX format there is simply no money to be made :(

Java is the only other option as you said, dont hold your breath.

Can you advise how you are running Phone Manager on Mac OS. Have a prospect at the moment but don't have a
Mac to test on :)
