Hi All

Im looking for a way to disable the "absent" function in phone manager for a set of users (user rights). Even better would be to disable the custom text in the absent function for all users.
why - because people think their funny but their just being offensive. A lot of users have started to use the custom text feature on the absent function so when an internal call is made, their custom text is displayed.... ie F@#& Off etc... and some pranksters change other users absent msg without them knowing until the boss phones them and lets them know if they do it again its disciplinary. causing a bit of an issue.

anyone know how?

Thanks

I don't think it can be disabled in PM.

however I have a number of suggestions:-

1) Disable DND using user-rights
2) set a secure unique password for each user so that users cannot register their Phone Manager to another user.
3) instruct staff to lock thier computers when un-attended
4) issue a p45 to the next joker that changes these settings without authorisation ( & the user who left their computer unlocked if it was changed by someone else)

Step 4 is a bit harsh but it is amazing how quickly word gets around :)

I think IPGuru means this and i agree with him :)

In the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, a P45 is the reference code of a form titled Details of employee leaving work. The term is used in British slang as a metonym for termination of employment. The equivalent slang term in the United States is pink slip.

A P45 is issued by the employer when an employee leaves.[1][2] It is a multipart form.
