Phone Inventory on MCD

I know that I can see phones via the IP telephone inventory form on an MCD. However this does not show me what modules may be on a phone. Specifically I'm looking to see what phones have headsets. Is there any way to get this done via the 3300? I know I can see the info via LLDP on a switch. Unfortunately, for the customer I need it for they don't have LLDP turned on, on their switches :(

Thoughts? Solutions? I've attempted to fumble my way through CDE forms and maintenance commands, but don't have too much experience or knowledge in that area

not for a headset module.

No programming required.

You might get a clue from looking at the POE draw wattage.

I assume that you're talking about power draw from the switch. Or, is there a way to get that data from the MCD?

Also, what do you mean by no programming required?

Is there a way to find phones that have a LIM module ?

You can find phones with a LIM module or PKM Module by checking what is programmed as their secondary devices

You could ONLY give headset keys to the phones with headsets, then when you see a headset key, say on key 16, you will know that phone has one.

Always look out for the next guy because it may be you!

That sounds like a good plan moving forward. However, this does not help me find the headsets attached to phones already deployed around the world. With all the things you can do from the PBX, with the phones, it really surprises me that you cannot do this.

Doesn't surprise me at all.

The headset key can be programmed on any phone and can easily be cleared by the user so I would consider that unreliable at best.

You won't be able to tell if any phones have conference modules either.

You can also get people using headsets on phone that aren't the DECT or bluetooth units that go into the back of the phone. There is no way to track those units.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Anyone else and you need to throw it harder.

I understand the reasoning with the non-DECT / BT headsets. It's not a device that logically interacts with the phone. I also get that the headset button itself can be added or removed. The reason it surprises me that this cannot be done via the PBX is that the phone itself is aware of the DECT module. It even advertises it via LLDP. So the limitation is in the programming of the BPX, not the phone.
