Phone format in Act!

Hello,
I have a problem with US phone format in ACT!
the format i have right now is
[1] xxx-249-7070
but I want it to look like this
xxx-249-7070

I have 6 computers in my network; 4 of them have the right format but the other 2 display the phone no. with [1] which i don't want it.
If anyone can help please let me know.

When you go the very end (right hand corner) of the phone # tab you can get a "browser button" you want to choose "free form" here to get rid of the 1 before the phone number.
