R10.1 - troubleshooting some phone firmware downloads. The server edition itself is the file server. I want to be able to see the HTTP requests and resulting replies (similar to the output from MV_IPTEL). Does anyone know the log file to look at for this? I checked almost all of the files in /var/log/, but nothing there. I then used netstat to see what process was using the port 80 and 411 (phone file server ports).
netstat -noap | grep -e ":80 " -e ":411 "
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:80 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN <pid>/ipoffice
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:411 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN <pid>/ipoffice
So then checked lsof for what files the ipoffice process had open.
lsof | grep <pid> | grep .log
ipoffice <pid> ipoffice <omitted> REG <omitted> <omitted> <omitted> /opt/ipoffice/ipoffice.log
So it seems as if the ipoffice.log file should have the logging for these ports/services. However the file is filled with "NULL" and is unreadable. Am i looking in the right place? Does anyone else know here the file server logs are read or kept?
