I have an extension that shows the time and date. A 2616 phone. When you pick it up there is no dial tone or response from buttons. I have swapped the phone out trying to eliminate that possibility. When i go into the cs1000 i see that the extension is disabled even though it is showing a time and date. I re-enable this phone and for a few hrs it will work again. The next morning it does the same thing and i have to re-enable. Any ideas? I have a second phone that is showing the initial symptoms of this.

This phone will work for a few hours and get disabled. Every morning i am having to reenable this extension. This has been going on a for a few days now. I have no idea what could be causing it.

Could be a bad card or cabling. They will show date and time even if disabled.

I am still finding myself enabling this phone. The user reports clicks and pauses. I can hear a ton of static when talking to him but he can't hear any. I have had some wiring going on in the building. Does this seem like there could be a wiring issue to the phone?

I have another phone port in the room. It is currently disabled with no TN number. If i were to activate this, what is the process to move the phone and it's programming and extension 307 TN (5 7 missing a few 0s) over to the new port even just for troubleshooting. I know what it takes for wiring to hook this port up, what i don't know is the phone programming part of it. I am a computer network administrator but these phone systems are prior to my time.

The best thing to do is to bring that phone into the phone room and punch it down there and see if the trouble goes away. If it doesn't then it's either the phone or the card. If the trouble goes away then it's the wiring out to the location. You can use the MOV command to move it to another TN as long as it's not an ACD phone.

If there is something programmed on the unused tn out it. req=out type=2616,2008whatever tn=5 7. Then req=move type=2616 tn=bad tn totn=5 7.
