I upgraded my customer to R11. Apparently a new enhancement was introduced that allowed the phones contacts in the display to search users first name AND last name (which I like). However, my customer liked it the old way (First name only). But he did bring up an annoyance about it, and I agree. If he starts to spell their name, the names that show up are not in alphabetical order. So if I press the 5 key, it should search for names starting with JKL, J being first, it is not. It shows up users names out of order. I did not see a way to get around this. Is this a bug or working as designed?

Adding other possibilities (except - 1: to match to first name only )

TUI:NAME_SEARCH_MODE=X
Where X=
1 – default action, matches to First name
2 – matches to Last name
3 – matches to either First OR Last name
4 – matches to Middle name, but NOT to first or last (for “Fred J Flintstone”, pressing 3 for F brings up No Match, but pressing 5 for J matches the middle name/initial)
5 – matches to First name OR Middle name, but NOT last name
6 – matches to Last name OR Middle name, but NOT first name

to search users first name AND last name" - by default it searches simultaneously on first, last and middle name and all other parts. That's not a R11.0 change, the systems have done it that way for quite a while.

The non-alaphabetical display might actually just be the fact that dialing something like 5646 will show a list matches on "John NNNN" and "nnnn Johnson" plus various others.
