Phone Button Template - Speed Dials 1

As part of the Phone Button Template I would like to include a speed dial to a toll free number. So every time I build a new phone and assign it the standard template it will automatically have the speed dial already configured to dial the toll free number. What is the best way to accomplish this?

You need to create a phone template instead of a button template. Add the sd to the template and use it to copy the new phone. If you are configuring various set types you'll need a phone template to match each one.

Sorry, I'm still a little confused. Looking under Build Administration and Phone Template I don't see where I can define a speed dial.

Ok.. I thought I had it but it's not working. I added the Phone Template and defined a speed dial. Let say 918005555555. But when I use the Template to create a phone the number is not defined. The Button still says "Add a new SD". How do I get the number from the Template to carry over?

You can not define speed dials in the template itself. It must be done on the phone itself. I am not sure where you entered the number in the template as the only field you can edit is the label.
