Hi all

We had just changed our on site radiopaging equipment and before it was connected to the sx using e&m trunks all was just great but!

Today it is connected using analogue extensions and now the numbers which are stored in the phone book will not connect because the system now requires a pause (paging voice asks for number) before we enter the pager number.

Does anyone know of a way to put 'pauses' in the phone book entry?

Phone book pauses? Do you mean system speed call? And, is this a 200 or 2000/3300?

Its a sx2000 and it is the entry in the phone book which the operators use when calling ectensions.

The Telephone Directory is not used to "dial" numbers, so putting pauses (which isn't possible anyway) in there is of no use, the tel dir is just for reference/display purposes.
I think what you want to do is create a system speed call which dials the analog extension number, pauses, then dials whatever DTMF digit you want after the pause. To enter a pause in a system speed call just enter a P in the actual digits field.

When an operator enters a name in the search field of the phone book they can then select the correct person/number and push the enter key and the switch will make the call to that number either internal, external or tieline. So if anyone knows how to put a pause in this field?

No, it's not possible to enter a pause within the telephone directory.

You can put a pause in a speedcall and associate a name and numer for that speed call in the teldir.
