Phone Beeps When Transfering to Voice Mail

I have a customer who is requesting that the volume of the beep that occurs when transfering to voice mail while on another line be lowered to a more acceptable volume level.

Her co-worker insists that the volume level of "the beep" can be adjusted.

Am I missing something here?

P.S. Why do I feel like I am asking for a can of dial tone?

I don't think you can adjust that.

Are you talking about a 2nd call that arrives while she is already on a call, or the CLID Dispaly that pops when the call hits the mbox?

Her assistant said it was when the second call arrives but it may very well be the CLID pop as it goes to voice mail.

I have not had a chance to see it first hand yet as it is a remote site.

Try adjusting music volume F86, think thats how we used to adjust page volume thru set.

there are two things that i'm aware of that cause the tone your refering to...(1)is the time stamp feature that you can turn off in class of service.(2)there is a option in mailboxs i believe called call forward display caller that defaults as yes you want to change that to no to stop the beep/tone sound, so whoever doesn't want to hear it needs to login to their mbox f981 then press 8 then press 2 then press 3 then listen for the option to turn off the call fwd display caller...i don't have a phone in front of me at the moment so i'm going off memory with the presses but i have you in the right direction.
