If someone leaves a message in the general mailbox = ext 10. is there a way to program a phone number or pager to let someone remote know that a voicemail was recently left.
thanks Mikey
It depends on what kind of VM do you have ,If you have Partner VS 4.0 or higher or Partner Messaging ,you can use a feature called outcalling,It will call out to a phone or a pager if you have a message in the mailbox.I hope that helps. Good Luck!
Hi mikey62,
You need either Partner Mail, Partner Mail VS 4 Port or Partner Messaging R1 for outcalling. This feature works great! You can put up to five numbers in the list (same or different numbers). You can also turn the feature on & off manually as well as have it on a schedual. I'm not sure if the R1 needs to be a four port min.

ok. there is partner mail. when I get into sys admin programming (remote here I am travelling) Q.? do I turn on and then is it menu oriented? any * keys needed for time pauses etc?....
Hi mikey62,
You need to get into administration to modify the mailbox(es) in question. Change the class of service (COS) for the mailbox to one that allows outcalling (4,5 &6). You do not have to change anything else on the mailbox (name, greeting). There are three COS value that allow outcalling that differ in mailbox size (storage). Study your COS table in the appendix. [My book is in the truck] Oh, COS 8 does not allow transfers but does allow outcalling.
Next, the user logs into their mailbox, into personal options. They want to enter the outcalling numbers first. You need to lead with a 9* and the number, then #. The user may then use the schedual to control outcalling or turn it on & off manually. The voicemails vary in version a bit, so some options may vary. You can change the time between outcalling attempts and how many times the list of numbers is run through.
You may want to toll restrict the outcalling port and allow certian LD numbers as your needs dictate. If you have lost your manual, you can download one from
