I have a Compaq Presario 5000 that the CD-R drive isn't being recognized in Windows Explorer. In Device Manager, it has a exclamation point on it and the name of the drive is Philips CDD4851. i have no drivers and haven't been able to find any drivers for the drive on the internet. Does anyone have any information?

If you right click on the device in Device Manager and select properties, what is the status message that is displayed?

in device manager, the error says:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39).
I went to the link that you provided, but that driver didn't work. i did a search on the internet for the philips cdd4851 driver but none of them are working???
