Just wondering if any of you smart people out there have devised a "fix" or "work-around" to extend the Drum Cartriage life of a Xerox 790. The small printed circuit behind the connector on the drum appears to have a counter IC on it. I assume once counted down to zero from it's preset the machine become inactive until the unit is replaced. Is there a code to override this or a jumper that can be added that will allow the drum unit to keep going? It would be nice to use an old drum as backup.

Cheers,
Steve

Hi,
If you go to Ebay, you can find a chip reset for $39. You pull your chip out and send it to them, and they reset it for you.
