I have a problem with my Phaser 360 and for some background I recently downloaded some OS X drivers so I can print off my G4 Mac (before I would always print off my Beige G3) and the Tek. Phaser 360 (power cord) is plugged into a power bar which plugs into a surge protector into the wall.

This is the error code and it's not even in the service manual: 11,038.61 DMC_PROG_FAULT(38) (see below)

"A/D Input Out of Range. This error is generated during MEDUSA ASIC analog to digital calibration and indicates that one or more of the A/D mixed inputs, 5 volt, 40 volt or 3.3 volts, are out of tolerance."

Now I have no idea what this means but any help/input to get a fixed would be appreciated.

Also, when I disconnect the DC power cable (J890), as the service manual discussed, from the power control board the unit (rear fan) starts up showing the above fault code (service required) and the LED lights in the back start blinking and then just the PS light just stays on and if I re-connect the DC power cable (J890) to the power control board I get a spark and it shorts out the unit, killing the power, and shutting it down.

Btw, I have another Tek. Phaser 360 for parts and I swapped the Power Supply, Power Control Board and Main/Logic Board and still no luck...I know this because I swapped back the same parts and it powered up the the 360 I use for parts.

Any help or insight in the matter would be greatly appreciated and I know your not in the business of giving free advice but it would really help me out as I'm really stuck without a printer over the Holidays.

Thx,
Larry

I would check the DM clutch. It is a spring wound clutch lubed with a yellow grease that becomes solid after a while. Clean and relube with a light grease.
