Hi,

I was wondering if anyone new how to reduce or eliminate the Cleaning Cycle. This thing eats up 5/8" of each color block. That's equivilant to 1 whole color block each time I turn it on (3 color blocks X 5/8" = 1 7/8", which is the exact length of one block).

I didn't know if anyone knew of a way to reduce the cycle or maybe set it for one cleaning cycle per 10 on/off cycles etc.

The cleaning cycle is automatic if you turn the printer on. IT does the cleaning cycle based on how long it has to warm-up. There is no way to eliminate this or reduce it. This is why it was always reccommended to leave the printer on, unless it was going to sit for long periods of time without being used.

What the heck is going on with this thing? I go in and change the energy star settings to 1 hour. I was hoping that would save me ink and electricity. I leave for work, when I get home, I find three test prints, and the stupid printer telling me the tray is full of wasted ink.

I thought this thing was suppose to sit idle only consumming 45 watts while in energy star mode. The only thing connected to this printer was one computer which was turned off.

Don't use energy star mode on these machines, the printhead will cool down and it will need to be purged again after warming up -> ink usage.
