I have replaced the printhead in a phaser 8550 (046K00510) with what the manual says is an alternate part (046K00530) printer now throws error 19,004.40 printhead and electronics module mismatch contact escalated support for info to clear error. I can not get the printer to enter service diagnostics with this printhead installed. Anyone with info on cleaing this error.

The 19,004 error code is caused by the replacement printhead not being “zeroed-out” at the factory.

In the mean time, if this happens again here is what you can do to get around it:
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Install a 2 mm 2-pin jumper on the top two pins of the Factory Only connector.
3. Turn on the printer. The printer should power up in a Manufacturing mode and the control panel should be black/white reversed and say “warming up”.
4. Turn off the printer.
5. Remove the jumper
6. Power up in normal customer mode

The error code should be gone.

The source issue is some printhead FRUs were not zeroed-out. Zeroed-out printheads will marry themselves to the ecan upon power-up. Non-zeroed printheads (not matching the ecan) will throw the error code. (The same is true for installing a non-zeroed ecan in a printer.)
