Phaser 850 slow to respond..

We have three new Dell optiplex GX620 computers running Windows XP Update 2. When we try to print on the Tektronix phaser 850DP printer, the response time is very slow. Just opening the properties box on this printer from the new computers can take up to 10 seconds. We did not have this problem on older computers running Windows XP. (No update 2.) We have the latest driver and the printer is configured just like the old computers. Any suggestions?
