Phaser 850 Print Quality

I've got a problem with a Phaser 850 which was print quality issues. When printing demo pages black text is all "jittery" as in the letters aren't formed well, looking as if someone shook the page as the printer was forming the words. As well as some black "dots" on the right hand side of the page. When printing full page photos, there seems to be parts of the page where there are blank lines down the page (not uniform blank lines, they look like as if someone scraped the ink from the page).

Any ideas?

Does printing any of the diagnostic pages help? (e.g. are they appearing normal?)

Nope.. there's black dots all over the right hand side of the page and the color bars are missing quite a few (and the Eliminate light stripes does not help).
