I'm having a problem with a paper jam that will print the first page nicely and a little slower I might add, although when it goes to print the second page the printer seems to kick in to high gear to print it a little faster and it Jams behind the drum in front of the printhead. It looks as if it gets cought up by the thermistor on the left side(if looking straight on) above the drum. Any help and or suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!

If the paper is under the blue blade under the exit cover when it jams then it sounds like the transfix solenoid on upper right side of printer maybe sticking or not working at all.

Hey Marty, thanks for responding. I have replaced the transfix clutch, lower feed clutch, paper pick clutch and exit rollers. It is still jamming, although what is very odd is that it jams all over the printer now. Never same place twice in a row. At one point today it lost complete power. I'm not exactly sure what is going on with this one, its really kicking my butt. I thought about power supply after this latest incident although not sure if its still in the paper pickup territory even after replacing all these clutches and solenoids. I am having a major headache with this one and would so desperately take any and all suggestions anyone has. It seems to have more of a problem when printing more than one page although every now and again it will jam with just a single page. It is very random when and where it jams. Please help! I'm desperate here.
Thanks,
Bacardi

Check the error codes in the fault history and post them here, might be a sensor issue.

Well I would except there are no error codes, only error messages like--media jam, check under whatever and wherever it jammed. Thats one of the reasons why I dont think its a sensor issue, although I am running out of possibilities and would look into it being I'm getting desperate. I dont see where there is a sensor test on this machine. The only way Ive been able to check sensors and its only the exit is to flip it while its in the ready state. Any help on checking sensors is greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

If you check the fault history and give me the error code anyway, I will be able to check for you which sensor triggered the Paper Jam message.
And yes, media jam message ALSO have error codes if you check the fault history.
Sensor tests can only done through diagnostics, which is PC based on the 840, 850.. only from the 860 onwards it is on the machine itself.

Yes, checked fault history and it wound up being the exit sensor to the preheater, or at least the fault code said it could be a sensor like the preheater exit sensor. And yes, when I took a look at it a piece that holds it secure in the molding was broken and therefore is probably moving around so it doesnt always jam the same place. Thanks for your help.

Nope!??? Replaced the broken exit sensor but this damn machine still jams. Now it will totally eject the paper out the back but will still say media jam open back top cover.....Any more ideas would be great....These things are really agitating me. There is no clear cut solution with these machines, Please help! Thanks

what were the last few error codes in the fault history?
do you have access to diagnostics software?

Finally, abnd this thing didnt give the error code until it died completely. I got an error code of 7,002.44 which has to do with either the Process motor or the Power control board. I am more leaning towards the power control board because of intermittent reboots but I'm sure I'll have to replace the motor as well and then maybe it will still jam. Just a crazy piece of equipment. I'm really hoping it was just this one machine and not all 850's. Thanks everyone for any and all help that was given.
