I just started having a problem with my Phaser 850 sucking up paper from the upper tray on start up after warm up or when waking up. Then I get jam error message behing the from panel (actually most of the page is still in the upper tray). I was also wondering if this could be related to the error code I got earlier "15.003.44" (thermisor). Does anyone have any info on what could be going on?

Thanks, Mark

most likely the problem is the pick roller clutch, p/n 401-0808-01 open the left side cover turn on the printer observe the pickroller clutch it's the one twoward the fron of the machine(look for the p/n) the the unit is powered on the gear drive train will engage the clutch should not spin the shaft at this time, the black gear behind the clutch will turn with the drive train but the shaft through the clutch should not!! when it does engage it will turn the pick up rollers in the top tray thus pulling in the paper which will then get in the way of the paper from the lower tray! this clutch failure is a common problem! there is a metal brass colored band inside the clutch it acts like a spring to maintain pressure on the clutch so it does not turn sometimes this band breaks in half other times it just gets tired and you can take apart the clutch and rebend it to apply more pressure.
