phaser 850 Error 05,001.41

05,001.41 This error shows each time I try to turn on the printer. Usually, I can turn it off and back on and after 2 or 3 trys I get it going.

Today, no so lucky. Keeps giving the error and I have no idea what it is.

Is this printer DOA? Bought it used on Ebay, did I get taken?

This error means teh drum has rotated a full revolution without the home sensor activating. With the left cover removed there is a round dial looking piece with a clear plastic cover, remove the cover and you can used canned air to blow any dust out, I have seen this clear that error. The other thing is make sure the black dick that rotates when the drum is moving is positioned in the middle of the sensor, which is the brown piece with the slot. If the disk rubs on either side this error can also come up. Also with the printer on look to see if you see a red LED lit in that sensor assy, if not you either have a problem with the position sensor itself or the I/O board below it that it plugs into. Hope this helps.
