I never turn off the printer. But we have had a couple of power outages lately. (Construction project on the next block- occasionally a few blocks lose power for a while!)

I'm wondering if it is possible to stop the printer from doing the high ink-using startup procedure? At least until construction stops next door.

In the same category here, is it possible to turn off the printing of the ink-guzzling test page after the Eliminate Stripes cleaning procedure? Almost every time I run this, once is enough. I'm pretty comfortable with living without the test page.

Thanks.

I don't think either of those are possible. Both are built in procedures by Xerox to help maintain print quality.

Oh well. I figured this was the case.

Thanks for responding.

No Problem. Sorry I didn't have the answer you were looking for.

Of course I have to find a answer to my own question that is not really a successful answer.

When I was looking through the screen prompts, I happily saw where I could turn off the start-up pages. So I checked the box. For an unrelated reason I had to turn off the 8400. Upon powering back up, the high color pages printed again. Hmmmmm.

So you CAN turn off the startup pages. Sort of. Not really. I'll write back if I find another "answer."
