Hello,
I'm hoping someone can help out with this particular problem. I have a Phaser 840 that is giving me fault code 22,600.01 whenever I try to print more than one page. I get the message to open the exit cover to remove the jam- even though the paper has completely exited the paper path.

If I print just a single page of information it works fine with no errors. It's only if we try to print multiple pages that this error occurs.

I have examined all sensors in the paper path and they all seem to be free and clear. I have also checked and verified the paper size plug on the paper tray is set for Letter size (the top hole in the tray is covered).

I apologize if this particular problem has been answered previously. I attempted to search the forum but the search feature is said to be currently under maintenance.

Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions.

I suggest replacing the dmc clutch p/n 401080702. There is a service bulletin addressing this very problem and the fix is to replace the clutch. I would reccommend replacing the pick clutch at the same time,p/n 401080802, especially if it is not 02 version.

Thank you Marty,
You were exactly on the money. I rebuilt the dmc clutch (trick I learned from my days as an Olympia copier technician) and it now works absolutely perfectly. I would have never equated the operation of the maintenance kit with this particular error.

After tearing the clutch apart, however, I can definitely see what happens- the oil from the maintenance roller makes it's way along the shaft and eventualy works it's way into the clutch mechanism- causing it to slip.

Thanks for the response. It helped me to fix a very frustrating problem with this printer (which a friend of mine gave me because they were unable to fix) :)
