phaser 8200 boot problem

got a problem with my phaser 8200 worked fine then after printing 3rd sheet it shut off like there was no power pulled plug from back and waited 30 secs or so and now a fan can be heard and it starts its self tests and then it says xerox on desplay and thats where it stays

I am working on an 8200 right now that has a boot problem. I think it is the fan that cools the drum. It does not activate at all. See if you have the same problem with the side covers off. The fan is on the right side of the printer. Let me know your situation. I may be able to help.
 
There are a number of causes that will prevent the printer from booting up, bad printhead, main board, memory or firmware on main board, power control board, power supply... The fan on the right side is used to control the drum temp and is controlled by the drum temp sensor, the fact that it is not on only indicates the drum is not heated enough to activate it. The fan does will not give you any indication nor cause the problem you describe.
