I'm looking to purchase a 8400 phaser............I have 14 phaser 8200 solid ink blocks (black) - from a "out of business sale" - I would use the machine to produce small pcs. of film for offset printing.
Dose anyone know if the ink chemistry is the same for both
machines. And - can the blocks be trimmed to fit?
thanks in advance.

I do not recommend trying to use the 8200 ink sticks in the 8400. The chemical makeup is similar but dislike enough to cause major problems with the printhead. That would require a head replacement which is more costly than the printer.
