Phaser 790 prints black only

anything using color is horribly distorted and only a fraction of the page gets printed, black prints fine... someone had a similar problem with their 780 but the hardware is too different to apply here... please help..

It sounds as if the belt cleaner is stuck against the belt. Since Black is the last color laid down that's why it's the only one that will print, the other colors are scrapped off.
