Phaser 780 - jams at new fuser

My co-worker and I are working on a customer's 780. It started with some toner marks/smudges on prints, which were resolved with a replacement fuser. That fuser started making a loud clicking noise soon after though, so we replaced it again. NOW, the problem is that media (normal, Xerox multipurpose paper) jams in the fuser area; sometimes it wraps around the fuser roller, sometimes it stops at the exact gap between the fuser and the coating(?) roller assy and accordians there. When it accordians, there is no individual spot(s) showing where the leading edge was obstructed. Our best guess at this point is that media is sticking/clinging to the fuser roller for some reason, and thus causing the wrap-around-the-fuser-roller issue, or the more frequent accordian-jam between fuser & coating/oil-roller (which was actually replaced when all this started to see if it was the problem - it wasn't).

I haven't been able to find a service manual anywhere. Has anyone been-there-done-that regarding this issue, perhaps?

I have seen this problem a couple of times.

Usually if it stop right at the fuser rollers and gives you the "accordian" jam. You can adjust the fuser rollers spring tension, by loosening the the nut on top of the spring roller pressure springs. (Make sure you loosen both sides equally).

The other is check to make sure the fuser roller is advanceing properly in order to coat the fuser with oil.

Let me know if these work or not.
