According to the intranet site, my belt cleaner assembly is at 42%. My fuser roll cartridge is at 56%. Does anyone know the rated life of these items? At what percentage does it ask to be replaced?

The reason I ask is that we've had some issues in the past with some replacement parts asking to be replaced at around 30% life left. Plus, we've also had to replace items that looked fine but when the computer techs were brought in, found the item to be near replacement time.

Thanks for any help :)

To directly answer your question, I have 4 7700s that I've been running for 3 years, and they start warning that replacement "will be needed soon" at 25%. I have also learned that usually you can run the part until the printer refuses to print anymore (at 0%) and it doesn't affect print quality noticeably at all. Might not be the case when printing something extremely color-critical, but I have never had any problem running them until it refuses to run any more and flashes the red LED. So when I see a "replacement needed soon" warning, I make sure I have one on hand and then continue printing. Print cartridges will go for over 1000 copies after they first say "warning- a print cartridge has reached the end of it's life". And I've found that techs will often want to replace any item that is giving a warning, apparently because they get called back in a day or two if the printer goes down again, and it's often just an item needed replacement. So damn the torpedos (or the warning signs)- full speed ahead!

Thank you for your help richdude. I also try not to call in the techs because as soon as "replace soon" shows up they want to replace it. I usually wait until it completely stops running or the colour is highly affected before replacing.

I am glad to hear that some of the other parts look to be the same. I have a fuser roll cartridge in stock as in ONE day the percentage went from over 90% to around 62%! The reason for the change - we took it out during a repair call as the printer has been running for a number of years and the over 90% seemed impossible. I guess the printed decided to really take a look at how much wear was really left on it when we did that because as soon as we put it back in the percent dropped. Anyhow, since it dropped that much in ONE day, I ordered one just in case. That was about 9 months ago.

Thanks again..
Jasmine
