Does anyone know how to reset toner level indictors. I replaced toner cartridges before the machine said they were out and I need to reset them so it does not indicate 0. Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately, the 560 code wasn't very friendly in that regard. If a cart was changed before it asked for it, then when a new is inserted, the see thru window is now occluded (toner full), but the printer doesn't know if it's full. The counter resets when the toner level drops to the point that the infra red beam partially goes through and tells the printer that the levle is getting low. When the beam shines through at full strength, then it tells the printer that the cart is empty. Then when you change a cart, it will guess that the next one is new if the windows are blocked with toner.

Solution
Phaser 560 Printer: Information and suggestions for when the toner fuel gauge and count does not reset

There is no way to reset the data for this issue from the front panel. It is not a fault or malfunction of the printer.

The printer expects that a cartridge will be replaced only after a toner low or out situation has occurred. If the toner cartridge is replaced before these warnings are given, the new cartridge will function normally for its life and will issue a normal toner low or out when the time comes.

The only way to resolve this issue is to reinstall the old cartridge and allow it to run low or to install an empty cartridge of the same color. When the printer shows toner low or empty, remove and replace the cartridge.

The new toner cartridge will reset the toner fuel gauge after a pre-determined amount of toner is used. Usually between 50-300 pages. The lower the coverage the more pages needed to reset the counter.

If you install a partially filled, but NOT LOW cartridge at this time the Toner fuel Gauge will not be accurate. Tektronix recommends that you only replace a cartridge with a FULL toner cartridge.
