Phaser 5400 "Paper Jam" Message

I am receiving the following three messages on a Xerox Phaser 5400 laser printer:

Paper Jam-
Open Top Cover

Open/Extend MBF

Remove PrintCart
Clear Paper Path

After all requested steps are completed there is NO paper jam to be found. Anybody have any ideas on what my next step should be?

Pull out the MBF and clean.Remove black cover on the left to access release. May be the clutch is bad, and/or rollers worn.
