Hello,
I recently purchased a used 540 and upon initialization, the reversal gears make an awful racket and I'm greeted with a "Paper Jam at E" message. The paper exit sensor switch (the black plastic "stick" seems to have suffered some trauma - being bent and a little melted, so I've guessed that the sensor it activates may have been damaged. As well, there seems to be a liberal coating of Fuser Oil on the inside of the unit just outside of the Fuser unit - at the beginning of the "E" paper trail. I've noticed that there is another paper trail sensor there as well - and it's been well Oiled by the Fuser Oil. Could the failure of either of these sensors result in the Jam Error - and/or the malfunction of the Reversal Roller Motors/Gears? If so, does anyone have the sensor Part #s? Thank you.
Ian
