I have a phaser 350 which appears to be stuck in the warmup cycle. Even if you go into bypass mode it still says warming up and having left it going overnight, it still says warming up. There's no numeric error message and the error light on the front panel is not on.
The two flashing leds at the back are going - the one on the right (near the scsi port) flashes twice, and the other flashes twice quickly followed by a little pause and then flashes once more.

I've reseated the postscript simm, reseated the mainboard, reset the NVRAM and the printer via the front panel options though nothing seems to get me to the stage where the startup sheet comes out or I can print anything.

I've got the service manual though haven't a clue where to start (let alone what to look for).

Can someone PLEASE help as I don't know whether to persevere or find a big bin ?!

Do you hear mechanical initializations as it warms up? If so the dmc clutch (small white clutch behind teh I/O board on left side) may need to be replaced. The other issue maybe with the postscript rom which may need to be replaced.

Plug it in to an outlet with nothing else plugged into it and try again.

Hi,
Sorry this is not a help but a request. We are a small charity working with people with disabilities and IT. We were recently donated a Phaser 350 to help us with administration. However, the printer has a fault and, not being able to afford the £200+ that Xerox want to have someone look at it, we would like to try to fix it ourselves. The people who donated it did not have the service manual and I was wondering if you could possibly e-mail us a copy? Our web-site address is and you could send it to sandy@passiton.sco.net. Hope you can help. Thanks.
