Hi there James here your problem is most likley to be a failure positioning the drum maintenance cam during a drum maintenance cycle. Check drum maintenance cam solenoid,
clutch, home sensor + related hardware. hope this helps. Kind Regards
Hello, I have just fixed my printer with this exact same error. The error means that the drum maintenance sensor for the drum maintenance cam is not reading what it should. The drum maintenance cam is the one that lifts up the squeegee to clean and re-lube the drum for printing. Ironically, in the case of my printer, all errors were from dust accumulation. Blocked heads, and this problem.
What you have to do is remove the top ink loading panel by its two screws, once you have that off, you can remove the right side panel by its screws (there are two, and one is under the front hatch, facing the panel.) Once the right side panel is removed, take a powerful air gun and blow the dust away from the sensors, which are the dual black boxes with slits in them facing each other. Those are infra-red optical sensors, and are sensitive to dust accumulation. Specifically, the sensor that causes this error is hidden behind the lower circuit board. You will probably want to do this same thing to the other side of the printer too. As you blow the dust away, try to keep it from going into the print head area and the wax melting area, as that may cause future clogging. You may want to lift the melting tray back and away from the top, pivot it on its wires, and put it in a plastic bag, and tape off the wax drip holes on the print head underneath before you blow dust everywhere.
I hope this helps!
