Phaser 350 - blank display

This printer DID print a wonderful test page and a couple of documents then suddenly after I shut it down (mistake!) now when I turn it on, nothing seems to happen except the display is blank/dark but you can see small squares where each character should display.

There are a number of things that will cause the problem your are seeing, one which i saw alot was a bad firmware or postscript rom which is on the main board. You can also check to see if one of teh I/O boards in the IC2 bus is a problem. Try just pulling out the main board and reseat all the components and reseat it, sometimes that works. If you have the pc based idags you can also try and run those.
