Good morning all and happy Friday! Looking down the road I see a need that we frequently use on our PBX's. We call them phantom or virtual extensions. They are a number that appears in software only (no physical appearance) and can be used for a message service (forwarded to voice mail) or as a type of relay. Please let me know the solution that a Call Manager, Unity or the IPCC would use.
Also, we're still having a heck of a time getting a page port programmed on a FXO port!
Thanks to all and happy Labor Day!

For phantom DN's you need to creat CTI ports and fwd always to vm.
The paging question: Are you using MGCP or h323?
If MGCP you configure it on the call manager as a route pattern and point it to the FXO port.
If it is h323 you do the same but point the RP to the h323 gateway then configure a dial-peer on the router to send the call to the FXO port.
