We have a customer who has a Auto Attendent set up.
when calls come in they go straight into the Auto Attendent which is ok but.....
our customer wants the caller to hear a couple of rings before going into the AA.
I have tried several ways of doing this and can only get one way to work.
I have tried making a phantom user and puting unconditional call forwarding to the AA shortcode but no rings just straight to AA.
I have tried making a phantom user then puting the phant into a group with a overflow group which has another phantom user with unconditional forward to AA but no joy.
The only way we got it to work was to use a port which has a phone plugged in and unconditionally forwarding that to the AA Shortcode.
We also tried putting a menu action at the beginning of the AA with Just ringing for 10 secs but could'nt find any decent ringing wavs.
Any ideas?

You must great a shortcode that start with a #

666
"#AutoA"
0
VoicemailCollect

The entry “#AutoA” indicates name of the Voicemail start point for the call.

For a module start point the # is optional. Using it provides a short period of ringing before the module actions start.

Greets Peter

Thats great, thanks Peter.
With this the caller will hear the ringing then the AA will answer the call, correct?
What out customer wants is for the AA to answer the call then the caller hears ringing in their ear then the AA starts playing the options to the caller.
Is this possible?

I'll confirm for Peter, with shortcodes going to Voicemail Pro module start points the # and ? aren't needed.

Using the # will give you a short period of ringing before the module runs - very useful when manually transferring callers to the module as it stops it running and giving its greetings before you complete the transfer.

Nice to have someone complaining their Voicemail answers too quickly, usually complaints about too many rings.
