Panasonic KX TA624: After a visit from the Directv Tech, Line 1 rings several times per day at the same time of the day each time. They are not exterior phone calls, but rather generated by something within the system. The phone rings about 4 or 5 times and call ends. If answered one can hear a ticking as dialing by pulses rather than tone and the call dies.

If it is ringing line 1( external line1) then it has to before the system. If you swap line 1 with line 2 or if you only have 1 line connect it to line port 2 and see if the problem follows the line
