I have installed an an ip office 500 software 8.1 verion65. Customer is using Bell as a carrier and Bell has installed a new
service using ONT (optical network terminal which is a lucent/alcatel product which is a fibre optic line which provides analog
trunks to the customer. Once a day all 7 lines light up and ring however there is no one on the line. Has anyone heard of this problem
and how do you fix it. We are using new ATM v2 combo cards.

I remember this was an issue with the ONT where they provide MWI and that causes this issue.
Do a search for it and you will find it.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I have a similar problem on multiple Avaya IP offices (7.0/8.0/and even new 8.156). Old combo cards and New combo cards. Even an Analog daughter card. It really random, it only seems to happen on customers with Analog trunks. It occurs with Verizon and Comcast. I have witnessed it: The phone will be audibility ringing but the phone display will be idle and no call appearances keys will be flashing. Sometimes resetting the phone doesn't fix the problem. The customer has to call in on their cell phone and answer from the extension with the phantom ringing and then it will stop. Tech support thinks it the carrier not giving a proper disconnect, however if that was the case you would except to see the last call information on the display while the call was ringing. Any suggestions are welcomed.

8.1(56) or (57) doesn't have this issue, at least for the 3 major carriers here we've tested on. If you need (63) or (67) for FP, then it will only be corrected in 9.1, as per Avaya.

On 8.0, (44) seems to fix the issue. Problem with 8.1(56) is if you have SCN, then you are in trouble.
