Hi,
I have a problem whereby an external calls comes in on a 3300 and rings on a 5220 IP phone. The person on the IP phone transfers the call to an analogue extension.
After the call on the analogue phone the person hangs up but when he does so, the phone rings immediately. When the person picks up the call it's "dead".

Running an MX controller with analogue trunks, release 6.1

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

This was quite a common problem on the SX2000 and calibrated flash type the problem is hook switch bounce.

Basically when the handset has been replaced it is quite common where the handset is not replaced cleanly and the mitel thinks the call has been put on hold.

the only thing you can do is to play around with the high flash timer in the circuit descriptor.

Hi Ian,

I only went to site today and it's looks like hook switch bounce. The problem is that I couldn't simulate the problem other that actually putting the trunk on hold and hanging up. This causes the trunk to call back the analogue extension.

anyway, I have made changes to the flash timer but need to leave it to be tested.

Thanks,
E

We discovered the dupe scenario as being human error.

It's called a two-fisted hangup.

The scenario goes something like this; the user ends a call by depressing the hookswitch with a finger just as he starts to place the handset on the cradle.

Result is a switchook flash & a resulting ringback.

Put one hand behind your back when terminating a call and the probem doesn't happen ;-)

If the 3300 has the option "trunk recall partial inhibit" in the cos options and the analogue sets are not using call park this is a good option to use on analogue sets. This option is for phantom ringbacks.
