I have a large 2k Redunadant running in a hotel. Reports of "wake-up" calls to rooms at 6am everyday. There are no hotel logs for wake-up calls for these rooms and no reports that the wake-up announcement is heard. Running LW34 actually upgraded when this problem first came up.

Can't find a reason. E&M integration with Centigram 120 running 6.0 with no wake-up features.

Anyone have any ideas?

SMDR external shows nothing with regard to these extensions durning the time frame. Unfortunately there is no SMDR internal.

I thought there might be an issue wqith the PMS and Voicemail but I haven't been able to find any coorelation there.

I had a similar issue once where a utility had spliced into a line to use as an autodial for meter reading.

They had forgotten to program a dial 9 however and as a result, every day at 3:00am room 460 got a call.

To discover this we forwarded the room to the console for the timeframe involved and were then able to discover what device was initiating the call.

If you can discover the reason, the solution wont be far behind.

This problem affects multiple rooms (no association) and is random; i.e. room745 1310 and 1605 report the problem one day and rooms 345, 507 and 1455 report the problem the next day.

I've got 9 per nodes on this system and the customer has stopped programming wake-ups some time ago. i have also removed the Guest's ability to set wake-ups

Thanks for the responses.

Assuming for the moment then that these are wakeups, Have you tried generating a wakeup report.

The system now allows for repeated wakeups at specific times until they are stopped. Maybe you have some of these?

MitelInMyBlood,

I do not have a 2K to verify with, but most of the Hotel/Motel enhancements were added years ago while the 2K was still being developed.

Multiple/recurring wakeups were introduced around the same time as Suite Services.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

It would be nice if the customer was actually setting wake ups however they have a new corporate mandate to call the guest's for wake up services. I have llooked at all of the logs and can't find any wake ups.
I have a theory that this problem might be related to a per sw controller so I am rolling a known good one through all of the per nodes and waiting to hear from the customer if the problem goes away.
Thanks all for the responses.

What type of voicemail?

Could the call be coming from there (VM Wakeup feature)

Is the centigram DNIC integrated or ONS.

I had an issue once with a DNIC integrated Centigram.

If DNIC make sure the COS option Multiline Set On-Hook Dialing.

I think we found the problem. A distribution list had been created in the voicemail by a user. All checked in guests received a mw call after the PMS did a message swap. I removed the distribution list and the problem has stopped.
