Any known alternatives to forwarding a "Phantom" or "Psuedo" number (i.e., a valid extension assigned to a person without a physical phone/hardware) without having to use up an assignment to a DNIC or ONS?
The simplest method is to create the DN as a huntgroup. It can then be routed or forwarded the same as a "Real" extension without using licenses or hardware. Integration with VM still works but Msg Lamping can be an issue.
If you require MSG Lamping, I recommend you add a "Phantom" Dual PKM to a convenient phone and then programm a key appearance on the PKM (non-ringing). With this scenario you have all the forwarding and routing options as well as the availability of a msg maiting indicator.
There are other solutions but the 2 above cover 99% of my needs.

The secret to success is knowing who to blame for your failures.
Alas:
1 - Create HG pilot #, Circular, Voice, no members;
2 - if needed by number plan, point DID to HG pilot # via sys spe;
3 - if not default, modify Call Reroute Assign to target (in this case is was the HG pilot for VM;
4 - Create 'phantom' voice mail box
5 - have another cup of coffee.
If networked/clustered machines be sure to update other sys speed tables and tel dir if required. Test ok on SX2000 LW34 in 3-cluster w/2 3300's.
Hi chaps, perhaps am I wrong, but if you want to forward an extension assigned to a personn to external number for example...just use a system speed call
(3300 ICP)
Forwarding to another target (internal or external) using system speed is fine - unless you need to route to a voice mail system and send the called-party ID (useful for providing a DID-like voice mail appearance to a non-facility (no phone) user. The caller gets to VM via rerouting. You can reroute an HG pilot, I don't think you can reroute a speed #. Lemme know if you can make this work as there are only 176 HGs available in MFRD 26 (max available).
Beware when using your HGs in this manner that you have a system limit based on your MFRD level. The idea as suggested is fine as long as it's just for a few. Otherwise the recommendation to use key appearances would be my recommendation as well.
