Phantom non stop ringing

I have a 3904 set which sometimes rings non stop and the only way to stop it is to unplug it from the jack. The firmware of the set is at the latest - see below.

The set has been replaced, and I have moved the TN to a different card. I only have two digital cards on this system. Other digital sets on either of these cards do not have this ringing non stop.

This set has two add on modules.

What would cause a set to ring non stop?

Actually the latest firmware is 94, doubt that is your problem though.

94 must be fairly new then.
The latest I have installed is 93

That phone has a lot of crap on it. It could be anything causing this. Are there other phones programmed like this one?

The "crap" on this phone is required for our dispatchers to answer incoming Fire dispatch calls from various communities we dispatch for. These sets are in a Fire headquarters that handles 911 fire calls.

The phantom ringing still exists and staff can only stop it by unplugging the phone.

Just wondering if anyone has any other thoughts as to what may be causing this?

what does LD 80 look like when you track it when it's phantom ringing?

did it start all of a sudden?

PVR circuits, are they analog? maybe one of them is busted, and PVR is causing a ring cycle to the phone?

To answer your questions, no indicators light up when the ringing starts. No, it did not start of a sudden - it has been happening for a few months. I will have to do the trace in LD80 when it occurs again to answer that questions. Yes, the PVR circuits are analog, but I don't know if they are "busted" - how would I tell that?

my thinking was that if the analog trunk (pvr) did not hangup properly *(LOOP start ones more likely), but you said that there is no indicator so maybe that would be a long shot.

also, check if there is an OLD jumper over the TN or house pair,
check to see if anything is programmed on the data side of the TN (less likely since you moved it already, but some of the other DNs that appear on it might)

maybe the user spilled something on the KEMs and never admitted it? (since you swapped out the set already)
