Has anyone ever had this problem? We have an Intuity Map5 8 Port VM System installed in a 8 Networked Definity site. An example of the problem:

A call is left in a subscribers mailbox at 1:00 pm. The subscriber checks their voice mail ever hour. No messages are in the mailbox. The next day the message appears with the time stamp of the previous day and the correct time (1:00 pm) when the message was left. All of the Definity's have the exact same time and date. The Intuity has the same time and date as the PBX's. We can duplicate this problem. Avaya says that there is no problem. As a means of clarification all of the PBX's are Definity Prologix boxes. Our voice channels are via Frame Relay (therefore, I don't get message waiting indication lights at the sites that are not at the main office). Any Ideas?

Thanks for you response!!!

Does the delayed message happen only with the remote PBXs or does it happen as well with the PBX thats hooked up the voicw mail? Are all the sytem settings the same for the remote boxes in the voice mail setup? So many buttons So little time
Thanks All

The first thing you should check is if the recipient's mailbox was full on the scheduled date of delivery. That would have prevented immediate receipt of the message and Intuity would have kept trying to reschedule delivery until space was available.
Hope that helps.

Try the following:

disp activity-log xxxx (where xxxx is the Ext.)

Check the number of "Old" messages as well as "Scheduled" messages that may be taking up a bunch of space. Also, if I were to Record a message "Option-1" and schedule its delivery to someone else (whether immediate or in the future) and that persons mailbox does not have enough space to receive my entire message it will automatically re-schedule according to what you have set in your rescheduling parameters. Your rescheduling parameters are located on page-3 using the following command:

disp system-parameters features

You'll notice that the increase in time is pretty extreme if the receiving party does not clear their mailbox space regularly. In the meantime the recorded message is taking up space in your mailbox until successfully delivered.

Good Luck!

Thanks guys for all of the suggestions. Here is what I found:

The mailboxes were not full. Actually most of the boxes were completely empty.

It happens at both the remote pbx mailboxes as well as the mailboxes that are at the main location.

The system settings are the same on all mailboxes.

I hope this helps!

First, what type of networking are you doing? AMIS, Digital, IP??? I have noticed that AMIS will get bogged down if you have too many systems on the network. Also if it's digital you may have a problem with the Data mods dialing out. I can't remember what version of intuity but it has a bug and needs to be updated because the serial port won't allow two sim. calls at a time. Check your alarms on all the vmails, see if you have a CPUPERM alarm, this tells you the proccessor is working too hard and you need to add ports or memory. It could be a combination of things. There are so many tests depending on the networking your doing...

please make sure that the switch id on the subscriber forms are correct to the switch node on the dial plan of that switch

You might want to check the delevery schedule on the main system and all of the other systems also. Page two on the machine form, at each site, will allow in and out bound delevery of messages. If they are not setup, you will have to wait for each machine to call each other, it will then only delever it's outbound messages. It must them wait for the other machine to call it back to delever it's outbound messages. The settings below tell the voice mail to recieve in and out bound messages in one session.

Allow Automatic Full Updates? y

Updates: In? y Out? y

Network Turnaround? y

Give this a try. Hope this helps

Thanks

Chris
