electra elite ipk II. is there a way to setup an extension number, with no hardware assigned to it, and have it call forward to an off-net number? im sure i can program a station, plug a phone in, then forward it, then unplug the phone again. but, that takes port resources. i would like to do this in programming only if possible.

thanks, tim

so i was wrong on the version of software, it is an ipk, not an ipk II. so the virtual stations are not available to me.

i am able to turn on the trunk to trunk transfer options in the trunk fields and cos fields for stations. i am able to setup a new extension and forward it off-net to another phone number.

however, there are still a couple issues:

1. the forward wont work unless there is phone plugged in to the port. this is not great, but not a showstopper.

2. when trying to transfer an incoming outside call to this extension, the transfer will not complete. i get another line and reach the forwarded to destination, but cannot connect the incoming call to it. along same lines, i con conference the two lines together, as long as the station the call came in to stays on the line to. is there another setting somewhere to allow this to complete? or do i need to get with the service provider to make sure the lines will allow that to happen?

You have something called a CAR (call arrival key). You specify (depending on your software level) 4 or 8 ports in the system as CAR keys. They use station ports, so if your system is max'd out you are out of luck. You assign an extension number to them. Then using the ATTCON (stations 101 or 102) to set up forwarding.
See 1-2-04
4-10
codes 45 = CAR key CF B/NA set. 46 = cancel
47 = CAR key CF all set. 48 = cancel
Dial the code, dial the car key extension number, dial the forwarding number.
As for your other item, see 1-8-08 class of service. page 3 LK 5 = station tk to tk trf, page 4 LK 8 = unsupervised trf.
Page 5 LK 4 = set CF off premise.

the car key items worked great, thanks! i either changed, or already had, all the cos items set to yes. however, the transfer still wont complete, and the call will drop if i conference and then hang up the station doing the conference.

is there anything else i need to look at before calling the service provider? these are just pots lines and they may not allow one to be connected to the another...

These are the only class of service bits required.

4-17 = station to class of service.

in Cmd 11-04 set up a virtual extension, then in command 24-09 point the ext to off premise destination. Be sure you allow trunk - trunk transfer if needed.

See third post. It's an IPK not IPK-ii.
so i was wrong on the version of software, it is an ipk, not an ipk II. so the virtual stations are not available to me.

belevedere, worked just like you stated. i didnt realize you would need to press the conf button a third time to get of it.

thanks, tim
