I am getting several Phantom calls on DN 2000 from the PRI on Channel 01. The customer says that there is no CID and that it says 100 or 001 or 1000 and there is no one there.

This is a MICS 7.0

100 or 001 or 1000"

Which is it?

They are just reporting that line 1 of the PRI is showing up with no caller on the line and no Caller ID. They say that sometimes it happens a lot all at one and then sometimes it will not happen for several hours.

I have rebooted the system and that does not stop it. I have seem the call come in myself a few times. Sometimes after they answer it the call just drops off.

I have never run into this before with a PRI. They just recently switched over from POTS analog lines to this new PRI with 100 DID's. It started happening the day the PRI was brought on line.

Well if the problem started the same day the PRI was installed then there is definitely something wrong somewhere, either with your programming or with the circuit itself. I would verify the systems settings match the carrier ie. esf, b8zs, etc. Also check to see if your b channels are setup as asending or depending, you want this to be the opposite of what the carrier is doing. If all this is already programmed properly then I would be contacting the carrier.

If you see "Line 001" on the display before or after answering the call, it could also mean that the call couldn't be mapped onto any of your target lines and that the system routed the call to the prime set for the trunk.

You may want to take a look at the Received Number (RN) programmed for each of your target lines. RNs must match the ones sent by the CO. (RNs on your system can also be shorter than the ones sent by the CO. In that case, leading excess digits are ignored by the system.)

I did find one thing . I checked two other MICs sites that are both using COX as the PRI provider. They both say DESCENDING and this site that is having the Phantom number says ASCENDING. What would happen if this setting was wrong? I am not sure what these this configuration means exactly. Is this how the calls go out or come into the PRI?

Ok took both suggestions and changed the configuration from ASCENDING to DESCENDING and removed the PRIME set ( which is where the phantom calls are coming to ) from the all PRI lines.

It was late so they were closing up and will let me know if anymore calls are coming in tomorrow.

Thanks
