We are using Pervasive SQL 2000i with an insurance rating application called Ebix. Ebix is a joke by the way, in case anyone considers buying it. The server is Win NT 4 Server and the workstations are Win98 and this is pure TCP/IP with Ethernet. When we try to execute the setup.exe file for the Ebix application in order to install upgrades and patches, we get this SQL error:

"Unable to open the SPV record in the CSR table.
Pervasive SQL status is: 4"

I'm still waiting on the Ebix people to fix it but they seemed to be very stumped. The Help Database in Pervasive SQL says this error is related to either a corrupt file or key, or an incorrect setting for the KeyBuffer for the MicroKernel. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

A status 4 usually indicates that the record the application is looking for doesn't exist. For example if the application is looking for a value "Smith" but there are not any "Smith" records in the table, the status 4 will occur. If this particular function was working before and now fails with the status 4, either the value it's looking for has been deleted or the file has become corrupt in some way.

Have the Ebix people try the Btrieve Function Executor to determine if the record they are looking for exists or not. mirtheil@mirtheil.com

I've actually got Pervasive support looking at this now too. Thanks.
