After much searching for help, I stumbled upon this website.

Here is what I'm trying to do and the steps taken thus far.... I am not very computer / programming literate.

I work with Great Plains Dynamics on a Pervasive 2000 database. My company has decided to start using Crystal Reports as Report Writer has been difficult for people to learn.

I have converted the company to Pervasive.SQL.
I ran the DDF Generator as instructed.
Install Crystal Reports.
From the server, using Pervasive, I created an OBDC.

From Crystal Reports, I can see the information concerning the file (ie - Creation date, properties, etc), but cannot see the individual data tables.

What have I missed?

Thank you in advance....

When you create a new crystal report - and I am assumming you are using CR v8.5 - click on database, find database file, and drill until you find file.ddf. Double click on it and at that point you should see all the data tables.

If that does not work post back and we can go in a couple of different directions. Software Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

I have tried locating the ddf's. I can see them, but they must be pointing to the wrong tables? I see the info on the folder example: Sales, but not the tables related to sales.

Does it matter that all the tables are btr files.

No, it does not matter, in fact they must be btrieve files. Not all btrieve files have a .btr extension, however.

The makers of your software may not have exposed all the files in the .ddfs. Peachtree is a good example of that. I have worked with Great plains before but not enough to help you wuth this. Maybe someone else out there has specific Great Plains knowledge? Or you could post on the Great Plains forum. Software Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

Thank you for trying. I have also posted the question on the Great Plains forum. No responses as of yet.
