Hello,
I have just installed Pervasive.SQL 9.5 WGE on a Windows Server 2003. When creating a database in the Control Centre, I am prompted to enter login details (Username + Password) of the Server. Any login credentials I provide returns the error:

"7011: Insufficient access rights for operation."

I am using the Administrator account but still encounter this problem.

Why does it ask for login information to the Server?

Can anybody help me to resolve this problem.

Rgds,

Are you doing this through a Terminal Server / Remote Desktop session? If so, go to the server console and try it again.

Yes, I am doing it through Terminal Services. I will try that, thank you.

Thanks, Mirtheil. This has worked.

I am getting the same error but in the following environment:

1. Windows 2003 Server Standard SP 2
2. Pervasive.SQL 9.5 Server
3. Doing the creation from the server console (not remote) in the Pervasive Control Center.
4. DBNames Configuration Location is set C:\Windows
5. Similar error if I try creating the database within the ODBC manager.

Can anyone offer any assitance? I have read through the forum but not finding a solution.

@Chungfah,
Next time, I would suggest starting a new thread rather than reviving an old one.
In regards to you problem, make sure you have Local Administrator rights on the server. ALso, check the WTS registry setting (as documented previously). Last thing to check is to make sure that the SYSTEM user has Read/Write rights to DBNAMES.CFG.

Thanks logging in as Local Administrator did the trick. I accept your point about starting a new post is noted.
