Well, I upgraded today and it was pretty smooth. But the instructions leave out that you should install the client and where the file is located. Jumps to changing the file format version on the server. You have to install the client on your machine before you can get to the spot to change the server configuration.
But got all that straigtened out.
#1 the file version was 7.x as it was supposed to be, and I could never get it to turn the apostrophe to red to save. But it was already at 7.x so I just ignored it.
#2 One PC may not have upgraded correctly. I get a 16bit windows subsystem error. c:\windows\system\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MSDOS or MS Windows applications, choose close to terminate the application. I had a close and ignore button. I closed, but still got the Pervasive screen install shield wizard complete. I went into PWE and seems to be ok, but I am afraid to use it ...afraid it will corrupt files. Macola support says to find the autoexec.nt on another machine and copy to this one. This is a 2003 Dell PC purchased with Windows XP Pro already installed.
#3 All the other machines upgraded ok. EXCEPT one was fine until the user rebooted ( I was logged in as admin to update the client). Here screen came up yellow with CONTENT at the top. The screen scrolls around. Have not figured this one out yet. Changing desktop properties does not help.
Thanks
